Cuffing

Cuffing is rolling or folding the hem of jeans, trousers, or sleeves to shorten the length and add a deliberate detail. A cuff can show off an ankle, reveal selvedge denim's coloured edge, or break up a sleeve — a small finishing touch that changes the proportion.

Beyond adjusting length, a cuff adds a clean visual break and a touch of intention. On jeans it bares the ankle and can flash selvedge; on sleeves a pushed or rolled cuff lightens a look and shows the forearm.

It's a free way to change proportion — handy when an inseam runs slightly long or you want to show off your footwear.
