Shacket

A shacket is a shirt-jacket hybrid — a heavy overshirt cut like a shirt but made in thick fabric like flannel, wool, or brushed cotton to wear as a light jacket. It layers over a tee or knit as casual outerwear in mild weather.

The name is a portmanteau of "shirt" and "jacket," and that's exactly what it is: shirt styling — collar, button front, chest pockets — in a fabric heavy enough to function as outerwear. It bridges the gap between a flannel shirt and a proper coat.

Worn open over a tee or buttoned as a layer under a coat, it's become a transitional-season staple.
