Denim & Jeans

Skinny jeans

Skinny jeans are cut close to the body from hip to ankle, with a narrow leg opening that hugs the calf. They rely on stretch denim to fit tightly without restricting movement, creating a long, lean line down the leg.

What makes skinny jeans wearable is elastane: a few percent of stretch lets the denim cling without feeling rigid. The higher the stretch content, the more they move with you — and the more they can bag out over a day of wear.

Skinny is the tightest mainstream cut. A slim fit is close but tapered with a little ease, whereas skinny is meant to follow the leg all the way down.
