Necklines & Collars

Crew neck

A crew neck is a round, close-fitting neckline that sits at the base of the neck without a collar. Named after rowing-crew sweaters, it's the most common neckline on T-shirts and sweatshirts — simple, snug, and universally wearable.

The crew neck's round, collarless shape is the default for casual knits and tees because it's clean and layers easily under jackets or over collared shirts. It sits right at the base of the neck, neither low nor high.

If you find a crew neck sits too tight or too high, a scoop or V-neck opens up the chest and lengthens the neck.
