Necklines & Collars

V-neck

A V-neck is a neckline that tapers down to a point at the front, forming a V. By drawing the eye downward it visually lengthens the neck and torso, making it a flattering alternative to a crew neck on tops, sweaters, and dresses.

The vertical line of a V-neck elongates the upper body and opens up the chest, which is why it often reads as more flattering and a touch dressier than a round crew neck. The depth ranges from a subtle notch to a deep plunge.

It pairs well with layering — a collared shirt or chain sits naturally in the open V.
