Silk

Silk is a natural protein fiber spun by silkworms, prized for its softness, subtle sheen, and fluid, lightweight drape. Strong yet delicate, breathable in heat and warm in cold, it's a luxury material used in blouses, slip dresses, scarves, and eveningwear. It requires gentle care and often dry cleaning.

Genuine silk has a soft, natural luster and a cool, smooth hand that synthetic imitations rarely match, but it stains easily, can water-spot, and weakens in strong sunlight.

Silk is a fiber, whereas satin is a weave — silk can be woven into satin, but much satin on the market is polyester. It's a hallmark of quiet luxury dressing.
